Collection: The Divinely Lost
“Where does the name The Divinely Lost come from? What’s the meaning behind it?”
I’ve always felt like I was caught between two worlds, the past and the present, the light and the dark. Lost in a sense, not really belonging to either. I think a lot of my work expresses that struggle. Dividing lines, blurred with transitional thoughts and conflicting emotions. Yet almost entirely linear at its core.
The feeling itself is not unlike holding a map, but being unable to read it. I suppose my work is a reflection of the path I feel in my mind’s eye. Chaotic and tumultuous, yet entirely predictable in its eventual path.
I used to combat this feeling of being adrift, and instead chose to ride the waves of my emotional current, like a wild horse into battle. I chose to remain lost, but in a truly delightful way. I became Divinely Lost.
I think we all feel lost at some point in our lives.
It represents the idea that even if we feel we have no possible path forward, no clear view, that if we look deep enough and revel in the process, we will understand that the line was always there beneath the noise. We just have to trust ourselves to see it. In the end, we all walk the same path, its just a matter of how we choose to get there. I think a lot of my work reflects this idea of a hidden line or path in our fates.
